A video describing and highlighting just how great the love of God is. When we truly see that He loves us right where we are it sparks a desire in us to worship. God lavishes his love and grace on us amidst our failure and brokenness. He isnt surprised when we fall, stumble, or mess up. He saw it the whole time and loved us the same. http://DesiringGOD.org ... http://HeartChanger.com

This is best done in late August when the honey is mostly sealed.
Crushing the comb and Draining the Honey
It is usual to get 90% of the honey out of the nylon mesh bag on the first day. Manipulate the bag by hand the following day to ensure that all the honey that can drain out has done so. At this point you can feed the contents of the mesh bag back to the bees either in late Autumn for Winter feed or in early spring as a stimulation feed. If you choose not to do so, because there is granulated honey that you wish to harvest, then heat it, to access it as follows.
Heating the Crushed Comb to Harvest the Last of the Honey at 43 degrees
A thermostatically controlled honey heater, some short disposable stockings and a double saucepan is needed with the inner one perforated to allow the heated honey to pass into the outer one for collection.
Heating the Crushed Comb to Harvest the Wax at 63 degrees
Wax has many uses, but none more bee friendly than to melt it again, dipping the top bar of the ZEST frames into it for reuse by the bees. This saves the bees energy that would be needed to make new wax.

Channel: Enjoy Transformation
I went to an introductory course for intermediate beekeepers who were interested in top bar bee keeping in the UK. I took this video from the back on my phone to share with others on youtube. Hope you like it.
Phil Chandler (author of barfoot beekeeper) and Gareth John describe some of the practicalities of the top bar. This video covers:
-Top bar reinforcement with 6mm dowels to stop breaking.
-Description of the process of building up a top bar hive from 3 bars.
-Why to add bars only two at a time.
- How to encourage straight bee combs.
-Warning about putting 3 bars straight into a brood nest to avoid stressing and chilling the bees.
- Build up gradually to 15/16 bars.
- how to identify the marker comb that indicates when only honey stores will be laid. (really useful tip).
-Description of comb being built wider, from 35mm to 40mm.
-Gareth describes how he has adapted his top bars with a 'shim' which means that he can adjust the width of the top bar to allow for the different width the bees make comb for brood and stores.
-Then he describes how he harvests honey from the hive. How much and when.
